Patrick Subaru has exciting news to share with the Westborough and Marlborough communities! For the fourth consecutive year, Subaru of America has received a perfect score of 100 percent Corporate Equity Index (CEI). And now the automaker is among 680 other notable companies that have earned the top achievement. With more than 40 years of advocating for human rights throughout the nation, CEI has become the premier benchmark for surveying and reporting on corporate policies and best practices for LGBTQ workplace equality.

Commitment to Excellence and Equality

Because of the dedication that Subaru of America has for workplace equality and its devotion to external causes for equality, the automaker has fostered an environment of inclusion and acceptance. The efforts the automaker has committed to are the result of a well-executed position to continue to do the right thing. Subaru of America is highly committed to ensuring that fairness, equality, and common decency remain a common theme throughout the company and beyond. The efforts will continue well into the future as the company's reputation for a workplace culture that is free of intolerance is recognized, according to Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America Inc.

Best Practices Results in Best Workplace

The criteria used to rate Subaru of America and other companies are five broad categories under the watchful eye of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). They include non-discrimination policies and procedures, employment benefits packages, organizational competency and accountability for LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, a public stand on LGBTQ rights, and citizenship responsibility. By ranking at a 100 percent score, Subaru of America received designation as a "Best Place to Work" for LGBTQ equality.

"[Subaru of America] knows that protecting their LGBTQ employees and customers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do, but it is also the best business decision," says HRC President Alphonso David. Of course, if you're a current Subaru customer, that type of answer doesn't come as a surprise or the actions taken by the automaker.
