5 Tips to Increase Fuel Efficiency

1.  Your car's fuel efficiency can be affected by your tires.  Make sure your tires are always inflated properly, and replace them whenever necessary.  Never drive on under-inflated tires or worn tires.  It only takes a few minutes to inflate the tires, and you will benefit from replacing them when they become worn.

3.  Do not overfill your gas tank.  Your emission system can only work properly when there is room in your gas tank.  If the tank is overfilled, it can affect the car's engine performance.  There must be space in your gas tank for the gasoline to expand.

4.  Synthetic oil is the fuel-efficient choice.  Whether the temperatures are cold or hot, synthetic oil will work better.  Although it costs more, it can increase the lifespan of your engine by providing better lubrication.  The mineral oil you have been using may cost less, but there are long-term benefits to switching to synthetic oil.   

5.  Change your air filter on a regular basis.  It is recommended you change your filter once per year, or after every 12,000 miles.  When filters are not changed regularly, they can become clogged with bugs, dirt, and other residue.  Older cars, especially, will not run properly when they have dirty filters.  Do not decrease your car's fuel efficiency by neglecting to change your air filters.
