In today's busy and turbulent times, it can be difficult to anticipate all situations that can arise during a commute, a business trip, or even a casual drive along a highway. No matter how careful of a driver you may be, there will always be outside factors that one simply cannot control and, sometimes, unfortunate accidents can happen on the road. In such events, it is important to have a vehicle that can keep you prepared in such unfavorable situations. The new 2014 Subaru BRZ features a wide variety of safety features that allow drivers a wider variety of control and handling, ensuring a quality driving experience in all conditions.

Subaru Boxer Engine

To begin, the unique horizontal layout of Subaru's boxer engine establishes a lower center of gravity, which allows the car to have an improved response. It sits low in the frame and helps drive under the car's chassis in the event of a front end collision, which will help keep passengers safe by minimizing engine related accidents and injuries.

Vehicle Stability Control

The vehicle features a unique stability control function, which is known as a VSC, automatically senses steering in the vehicle and keeps track of braking inputs in order to help keep your car on its intended path of motion no matter what may happen on the road.

Smart Braking System

An anti lock braking system, also known as ABS, prevents the wheels from locking up, which allows the driver to have more control. Further electronic brake force distribution, or EBD, balances the braking system, while a unique brake assist function can work with a panicked stop response. Upon sensing such a response, the vehicle will apply a full braking force in order to help stop the car faster.

Advanced Protection System

The Subaru BRZ comes with an industry standard of six total airbags in order to help prevent injury. These airbags are located on the front, front seat sides, and the side curtain. This advanced system also uses various sensors to know when to deploy the airbags in the most effective way, so as to better reduce the risk of dangerous injury during an accident. The reinforcement frame is ring shaped and made of high tensile strength steel. It is specially designed to shield passengers in such events, as the way it is built redirects the force of impact around the interior of the vehicle, rather than through it.
